Homeschool Enhancement Program

In accordance with the mission of Heartland Christian School, HCS desires to partner with and be a resource for parents who have chosen to homeschool their children. HCS offers a broad selection of electives and core courses for homeschool families to compliment their homeschool curriculum. Students' participation in the homeschool program also enables them the opportunity to participate in many out of the classroom activities, clubs, and athletics at HCS.

Registration Fee: $100 per student

Elementary Homeschool fee is $450 per student per year for specials classes.

Middle and High School Homeschool fee is $650 for one class period and $350 for a second class period. No more than two classes per year.
  • Enrollment in the Homeschool Program is contingent upon any required prerequisites.
  • Students must demonstrate the required abilities necessary for success in the respective class.
  • Core classes usually meet daily at the same time.
  • Middle and high school students taking a core course who want to participate in athletics may pay an additional $100 per year to participate in all OHSAA sports.

Course Options

1. All grades – 2 Electives (see below for class list)                                                   
   
2. 7th – 8th Grades - 1 Elective and all seasons of sports                                          
              Middle School Sports include:
              Fall: Volleyball, Cross Country
              Winter: Boys and Girls Basketball
              Spring: Track

3. 9th – 12th Grades - 1 Elective and all seasons of sports                                        
              High School Sports include:
              Fall: Volleyball, Cross Country, Track, Soccer, Golf
              Winter: Boys and Girls Basketball, Cheerleading, Bowling
              Spring: Track, Baseball
 
4. 6th – 12th Grades – Core Classes (see below for class list)
              High School World History Class (in-class or online)     
              7th – 12th Grades – All seasons of sports                             
                        6th grade is not included in OHSAA sports
            
Sports: 
  • Sports only is not an option according to OHSAA.
  • When participating in sports, the family will be required to show student academic progress every 4 1/2 weeks in accordance with school athletic policy to determine athletic eligibility during the season. Students must attend class to be involved in sports.
  • Sports participation cannot begin until the registration process is complete, registration payment is received, and all Sports Department requirements are met.
 
CORE CLASS:
  • Maximum of 2 core classes per year is permitted.
  • Enrollment in the Homeschool Program is contingent upon any required prerequisites.
  • Students must demonstrate the required abilities necessary for success in the respective class.
  • Core Classes usually meet daily at the same time except Tuesday and Wednesday when morning chapel schedule is observed.

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL ELECTIVE COURSES:
 
ELEMENTARY: Kindergarten – 5th grades
